PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Diabetes Knowledge Face-off is a highly interactive, questions-and-answers learning activity during which teams will compete to earn the most points by answering challenging questions about the management of patients with type 2 diabetes. With guidance from a panel of experts, participants will learn how to effectively optimize cardiovascular, kidney, and metabolic protection in their patients with type 2 diabetes.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

At the end of this learning activity, participants will be able to:

• Identify patients with type 2 diabetes in their practice who are at elevated cardiorenal and metabolic risk
• Choose treatments that will optimize cardiovascular, kidney and metabolic protection in these patients
• Partner with patients to discuss the value of these treatments (including the risk of non-treatment), the process for initiating treatment, and the plan for managing challenges along the way (e.g., side effects, pill burden)
